A tentacled creature who blew away most of the Moon promises to destroy the Earth next March, then becomes homeroom teacher of Class 3-E, the dumping ground for a top junior high's failing students. Watch Season 1, then Season 2, then the 2026 film Our Time. The two seasons tell the complete story from the first day of class to graduation. Our Time is a new film, not a sequel: it adapts side chapters the TV series skipped, framed as the class looking back shortly before the deadline. Meeting Time, the Extracurricular Lesson shorts, the 365 Days' Time recap film and the Koro Sensei Quest! spin-off are optional extras.
Start here. Koro-sensei arrives in Class 3-E, and the students learn to fight, study and plot against a teacher who can move at Mach 20. 22 episodes, covering the first term through summer break.
Picks up right after Season 1 and runs to the end of the manga, including Koro-sensei's past and the final deadline. 25 episodes.
The 2026 anniversary film. Not a sequel: it is set about two weeks before the deadline, near the end of Season 2, and adapts side chapters the TV series skipped as the class looks back on the year. Watch it after Season 2.
A 10-minute Episode 0 made by the TV staff, showing Koro-sensei's first meeting with Karasuma. It is set before Season 1, so watch it first if you want story order.
Eight five-minute shorts adapting manga chapters 78 and 79, which the TV series skipped. They take place between episodes 1 and 2 of Season 2.
A compilation of both seasons, framed by new scenes of Nagisa and Karma seven years after graduation. It covers the ending, so save it for after Season 2.
A comedy spin-off in which Koro-sensei is a demon king and Class 3-E are students at a magic school. Twelve 10-minute episodes with no connection to the main story.
Assassination Classroom is one of the simplest franchises to watch. The two TV seasons, 47 episodes in total, adapt the manga from the first chapter to the last, and Season 2 picks up right where Season 1 ends.
Our Time, released in 2026 for the anime's 10th anniversary, is the only other entry with new story content at feature length. It is often mistaken for a sequel, but it is not. The film is set about two weeks before the deadline to kill Koro-sensei, which places it inside the last stretch of Season 2, and it is built from manga chapters the TV series left out. Nothing in it changes the ending, so it works best after Season 2, as a return visit to the class. It is marked skippable because the main story is complete without it.
Meeting Time is a 10-minute Episode 0 showing Koro-sensei's first meeting with Karasuma. It is a genuine prequel, but the series introduces both characters on its own, so it sits with the extras. You can watch it before Season 1 if you want everything in story order.
The Extracurricular Lesson shorts adapt two manga chapters that the TV series skipped early in Season 2. 365 Days' Time is a compilation of both seasons with new scenes of the class seven years later, so it gives away the ending and belongs after Season 2. Koro Sensei Quest! is a comedy spin-off set in a fantasy world and has no connection to the story.
Assassination Classroom has 2 seasons and 1 film in the main run — 47 episodes altogether.

Only spin-offs that tie into the main story are listed here — anthologies, fan books and the like are left out.
Yusei Matsui's manga is complete in 21 volumes, published in English by Viz Media. The two TV seasons adapt it to the final chapter, so there is no point where the manga continues past the anime. What the anime left out are individual side chapters: chapters 78 and 79 became the Extracurricular Lesson shorts, and more were adapted in the 2026 film Our Time. Reading from Volume 1 is the only way to get every chapter.
Season 1, then Season 2, then the 2026 film Our Time. The two seasons tell the complete story. Meeting Time, the Extracurricular Lesson shorts, the 365 Days' Time recap film and Koro Sensei Quest! are optional.
The TV series has 47 episodes: 22 in Season 1 and 25 in Season 2. The 2026 film Our Time runs about 87 minutes.
No. Our Time is set about two weeks before the deadline to kill Koro-sensei, near the end of Season 2, and adapts side chapters of the manga that the TV series skipped. It does not continue the story past the ending. Watch it after Season 2.
No. It is a compilation of both TV seasons. The only new material is the framing scenes of Nagisa and Karma seven years after graduation. Because it covers the ending, watch it only after Season 2.
Before Season 1. It is a 10-minute Episode 0 made by the TV staff, showing Koro-sensei's first meeting with Karasuma. The series introduces both characters on its own, so it is optional, and it works just as well after Season 1.
Eight five-minute shorts released in 2016 that adapt manga chapters 78 and 79, which the TV series skipped. They take place between episodes 1 and 2 of Season 2 and are optional.
The anime has already adapted the manga to its final chapter, so there is no story left for a third season. The 2026 film Our Time adds side stories rather than continuing the plot.
Yes. Yusei Matsui's manga ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2012 to 2016 and is complete in 21 volumes. Viz Media publishes it in English. The anime covers the whole story, skipping only some side chapters.
Yes. Funimation dubbed both TV seasons and 365 Days' Time, with Sonny Strait as Koro-sensei. Crunchyroll released Our Time with an English dub in July 2026.
Crunchyroll holds the license for the series, which Funimation handled before the two services merged, and it streams Our Time with subtitles and an English dub. Availability of the extras varies by region.
A comedy spin-off based on a separate manga, in which Koro-sensei is a demon king and Class 3-E are students at a magic school. It has twelve 10-minute episodes and continues a short film that was screened with 365 Days' Time in Japanese theaters. It has no connection to the main story.
Only as a curiosity. It is a 23-minute OVA made by a different studio, Brain's Base, before the TV series existed. It was screened at a Jump event and released on DVD with the seventh manga volume in Japan. The TV series retells the same early material, so nothing is missed by skipping it.
No. The two live-action films from 2015 and 2016, the second titled Assassination Classroom: Graduation, are a separate adaptation of the manga and are not part of the anime watch order.
