One-Punch Man
Start here. Twelve episodes that introduce Saitama, his disciple Genos and the Hero Association, ending with the fight against Boros. Animated by Madhouse.
Saitama trained until he could end any fight with a single punch, and now nothing challenges him. The anime runs three TV seasons, two OVA sets and a one-episode prequel, with the second half of Season 3 due in 2027.
Plus 3 optional extras and 1 more title.
3 titles · 36 episodes · ~14.5 hours
Watch the three TV seasons in order: Season 1, Season 2, then Season 3. That is the whole story so far. The two OVA sets and Road to Hero are optional side stories, best saved until after the seasons they belong to. Season 3 Part 2 airs in 2027.
Start here. Twelve episodes that introduce Saitama, his disciple Genos and the Hero Association, ending with the fight against Boros. Animated by Madhouse.
Picks up directly after Season 1. Garou, the self-styled hero hunter, takes centre stage, and the Monster Association begins to move.
⚠ The studio changed from Madhouse to J.C.Staff, and the animation looks noticeably different. The story continues without any gap.
Episodes 25 to 36. The heroes raid the Monster Association headquarters, and the season stops right after Saitama's fight with Orochi.
⚠ Ends partway through the Monster Association arc. The conclusion is in Part 2, due in 2027.
The second half of Season 3, continuing the Monster Association arc from episode 37.
⚠ Airs in 2027. No month has been announced yet.
A single episode set in Saitama's early days as a weak hero, when he still had hair and relied on a local tailor to keep his clothes in one piece. Set before Season 1, but funnier once you know who he becomes.
⚠ Originally released only in Japan, bundled with a special edition of manga volume 10. It is the only entry with no English dub.
Six short comedy side stories, about ten minutes each, released with the Season 1 home video volumes. Watch after Season 1.
Six more short side stories, released with the Season 2 home video volumes. Watch after Season 2.
One-Punch Man has no branching continuity. The three TV seasons run in a straight line, each picking up exactly where the previous one stopped, so the recommended order is simply Season 1, Season 2 and Season 3.
Everything else is optional. The two OVA sets are six short side stories each, roughly ten minutes an episode, that were released alongside the home video volumes of Season 1 and Season 2. They never affect the plot. Road to Hero is a single 24-minute episode showing Saitama in his early days as a weak hero, before the costume and before he lost his hair. It was bundled with a special edition of the tenth manga volume in Japan and is the only entry with no English dub.
Road to Hero is set before Season 1, but it works better after it. The episode leans on jokes about how different Saitama used to be, and those land only once you know who he becomes. That is why it sits in the extras here and at the top of the chronological tab.
Season 3 ends partway through the Monster Association arc, right after Saitama's fight with Orochi. The second half has been announced for 2027 with no month yet, so the story is currently on a long pause.
One-Punch Man has 3 seasons in the main run — 36 episodes altogether.

The anime follows the manga remake by ONE and Yusuke Murata. Season 3 Part 1 stops right after Saitama's fight with Orochi, partway through the Monster Association arc. Guides place the restart point at chapter 115 or 117, so starting at chapter 115 is the safe choice. The manga is ongoing, with 37 volumes out in Japan as of July 2026, and Viz publishes it in English.

Pick up right after Saitama's fight with Orochi. Guides disagree by a couple of chapters on the exact number, placing it at chapter 115 or 117, so starting at chapter 115 guarantees you miss nothing. The manga is still ongoing, with 37 volumes out in Japan as of July 2026, and Viz publishes it in English.
Mainly on the manga remake drawn by Yusuke Murata, which is based on ONE's original webcomic but expands and reworks it considerably, especially in the Monster Association arc. If you want to continue after the anime, the Murata manga is the version that matches it.
