Noragami
Start here. Twelve episodes introducing Yato, Hiyori and Yukine and covering the manga's opening chapters. The last arc, from the second half of episode 10, is anime-original and is not continued in Aragoto.
Yato is a minor god with no shrine and no worshippers who takes any job for a five-yen offering. When middle schooler Hiyori Iki pushes him out of the path of a bus, her soul starts slipping out of her body, and asking Yato to fix it pulls her into a hidden world of gods, the spirits who serve as their weapons, and the phantoms they hunt.
Plus 2 optional extras.

Watch the two TV seasons first: Noragami (12 episodes), then Noragami Aragoto (13 episodes). Both OVA pairs go after Aragoto, because the first OVA pair is set after the Bishamon arc that Aragoto opens with and would spoil it.

Thirteen episodes covering the Bishamon arc (episodes 1-6) and the Ebisu arc (episodes 7-13). It follows on from the manga material of Season 1 rather than its anime-original ending.
Two comedy episodes adapting manga chapter 25 and a cherry-blossom viewing story. Both are set after the Bishamon arc, between Aragoto episodes 6 and 7, so watch them after Aragoto even though they came out in 2014.
⚠ Bundled on DVD with limited editions of Japanese manga volumes 10 and 11. Never released in English and not on official streaming services.
Two comedy episodes: a ski-trip mystery adapted from the Stray Stories side collection, and a theme park outing adapted from manga chapter 41, which comes after the Aragoto finale.

The two TV seasons are the core of the anime and run in a straight line. Noragami introduces Yato, Hiyori and Yukine and covers the first 12 chapters of the manga, then finishes with an anime-original arc about Rabo from the second half of episode 10. Aragoto adapts the Bishamon arc and the Ebisu arc, chapters 13-39. The four OVA episodes are extras that were bundled with limited editions of the Japanese manga, and the first pair is the one to be careful with. Although it was released in 2014, right after Season 1, it adapts chapter 25 and a cherry-blossom story, both set after the Bishamon arc, so watching it before Aragoto shows how that arc turns out. Placing both OVA pairs after Aragoto avoids that. The Aragoto OVA pair is also safest after the season, since its second episode adapts chapter 41, which comes after the Aragoto finale.
Noragami has 2 seasons in the main run — 25 episodes altogether.

Where each part of the anime lines up with the source, so you know where to pick up reading.
Only spin-offs that tie into the main story are listed here — anthologies, fan books and the like are left out.
Season 1 adapts chapters 1-12, and the Rabo arc from the second half of episode 10 through episode 12 is anime-original. Aragoto adapts chapters 13-39, the Bishamon and Ebisu arcs, and condenses parts of the Ebisu arc. Chapter 40 was never animated and chapter 41 was only animated as an OVA, so start at chapter 40, the first chapter of Volume 11. The manga is complete at 109 chapters in 27 volumes, and all 27 are available in English from Kodansha USA, which also publishes a nine-volume omnibus edition. The side-story collection Noragami: Stray Stories is available in English as well.
Start with Noragami, the 12-episode first season from 2014. It introduces Yato, Hiyori and Yukine and needs no background.
Noragami (Season 1), then Noragami Aragoto (Season 2). The two OVA pairs are optional and are best watched after Aragoto.
After Aragoto. The first OVA pair came out in 2014, right after Season 1, but it adapts manga chapters set after the Bishamon arc, between Aragoto episodes 6 and 7, so watching it before Aragoto spoils that arc. The Aragoto OVA pair includes an episode adapted from manga chapter 41, which comes after the Aragoto finale.
Yes. All four OVA episodes are comedy side stories that do not affect the main plot. They were bundled with limited editions of the Japanese manga and have never had an official English release, so most viewers outside Japan skip them anyway.
Two seasons with 25 episodes: 12 in Noragami and 13 in Aragoto, about 10 hours in total. The four OVA episodes add roughly 1.5 hours.
The anime stopped after Aragoto ended on December 25, 2015, and no Season 3 has been announced. The manga, however, is finished: it ended in January 2024 with 109 chapters in 27 volumes, so the full story is available to read.
Chapter 40, at the start of Volume 11. Aragoto ends at chapter 39, the anime skipped chapter 40, and chapter 41 was only animated as an OVA. Reading from chapter 40 gives you everything the TV anime left out.
Yes, for both TV seasons, produced by Funimation. Jason Liebrecht voices Yato, Bryn Apprill voices Hiyori and Micah Solusod voices Yukine, and the main cast stays the same across both seasons. The OVAs have no English dub.
Yes, in Season 1. The Rabo arc, from the second half of episode 10 through episode 12, is anime-original and does not appear in the manga. Aragoto adapts the manga, though it condenses some parts, especially the Ebisu arc.
No. Aragoto picks up from the manga material rather than from the anime-original Rabo arc that closes Season 1. You do not need to reconcile the two; the Season 1 finale simply stands on its own.
Both TV seasons stream on Crunchyroll with subtitles and the English dub. Availability varies by region, so check your local catalog.
