Jujutsu Kaisen 0
A prequel film following Yuta Okkotsu, set about a year before Season 1. Watch it after Season 1 rather than first: the film assumes you already understand how curses and jujutsu sorcerers work, and its closing scene lands only if you have seen the TV series. Several characters introduced here become important in Season 2 and Season 3.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2
23 episodes, split into two halves. The first five are a flashback to Gojo and Geto's student years, which explains most of what Jujutsu Kaisen 0 only hinted at. The rest covers the Shibuya Incident, the turning point of the whole series.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3: The Culling Game Part 1
12 episodes picking up immediately after Season 2. The opening episodes deal with the fallout of the Shibuya Incident before the Culling Game itself begins, so the setup will not make sense without Season 2 fresh in mind.

Why This Order
The film is the one thing that trips people up with this series. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 was released after Season 1 but tells a story set roughly a year earlier, and several characters it focuses on return in a meaningful way during Season 2. Watching it between Season 1 and Season 2 is the sweet spot: you already understand how curses and sorcerers work, its final scene only lands if you have seen the TV series, and you go into Season 2 with the right context. Starting with Season 1 is non-negotiable since it builds the foundation everything else relies on. From there the film slots in naturally, Season 2 follows, and Season 3 picks up right where Season 2 ends. The main line is short and there are no spin-off series to detour into, so you can watch all four entries back to back. Two compilation films were released in 2025, but both recap material already covered by the TV series and neither is required.

Where should I start if I'm new to the series?
Start with Season 1. It introduces Yuji Itadori and lays out how curses and jujutsu sorcerers work. After that, watch the film Jujutsu Kaisen 0, then Season 2, then Season 3. That is four entries in total, and there are no spin-off series you need to track down.
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is a prequel — why isn't it first?
Because it was made for people who already know the world. The film explains very little about cursed energy or the jujutsu system, and its final scene depends on your recognising a character from the TV series. Watching it after Season 1 also puts it right before Season 2, which revisits several of the film's characters. Starting with the film works if you insist on strict chronology, but it is the harder way in.
Do I need to watch the two compilation films?
No. Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death (2025) recaps the first five episodes of Season 2, and Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution (2025) recaps the Shibuya Incident and then previews the first two episodes of Season 3. Both were released in cinemas by GKIDS, so you may have seen them advertised, but everything in them is already covered by the TV seasons.
Is there an English dub?
Yes, for every entry. All three TV seasons and Jujutsu Kaisen 0 have English dubs, with Adam McArthur as Yuji Itadori. The Season 3 dub began on Crunchyroll on 22 January 2026, two weeks after the Japanese premiere.
Are there any filler episodes I can skip?
No. Jujutsu Kaisen adapts the manga closely and has no filler arcs or anime-original detours. Every episode belongs to the main story, so nothing in this order is optional.
Where can I watch it?
Crunchyroll carries all three seasons and the film, in Japanese with subtitles and in English dub. Season 3 was also added to Netflix outside Asia in July 2026, and in the US the series appears on Hulu and Prime Video as well. Availability varies by region, so check what is licensed where you are.
