The Dangers in My Heart
Start here. Twelve episodes covering the first four volumes of the manga, setting up Kyotaro's grim inner monologue and the way Anna keeps puncturing it.

Plus 2 optional extras and 1 more title.

Two TV seasons, watched in order, are the whole story so far. Everything else is optional: a 21-minute spinoff of gag strips, and a compilation film that recaps both seasons and adds new scenes set after Season 2. A third season arrives in 2027.
Start here. Twelve episodes covering the first four volumes of the manga, setting up Kyotaro's grim inner monologue and the way Anna keeps puncturing it.
Thirteen episodes continuing without a gap, taking the story to the end of the manga's eighth volume. The comedy stays, but the relationship stops being one-sided.
Twi-Yaba, a 21-minute spinoff animating the short comic strips the author posts online. Released between the two seasons, and made of gags rather than story.
A 101-minute compilation of both seasons with newly animated scenes set after Season 2 added in. Most of it is material you have already watched, so treat it as a recap with a bonus rather than a sequel.
⚠ This is a compilation film, not a continuation. Watch it after both seasons or skip it without losing the plot.
Not out yet. It will continue from where Season 2 stopped.
⚠ Announced in March 2026 for a 2027 broadcast. No month has been confirmed.
There is nothing tricky here. Season 1 introduces Kyotaro and Anna and runs 12 episodes, Season 2 continues straight on for 13 more, and together they cover the manga's first eight volumes. Watch them in that order and you have seen the story the way it was meant to be read.
The two extras are worth understanding before you decide. Twi-Yaba is a 21-minute spinoff built from the short comic strips the author posts online, released between the seasons; it is a string of gags rather than a chapter of the story. The film is a compilation: it condenses both seasons into 101 minutes, then adds newly animated scenes set after Season 2, including Kana's concert and a moment between Kyotaro and Anna. That new material is the reason to watch it, but it is a small part of a long recap, so it belongs after the seasons rather than instead of them.
Season 3 was announced in March 2026 for a 2027 broadcast, with no month confirmed yet.
The Dangers in My Heart has 2 seasons in the main run — 25 episodes altogether.

Where each part of the anime lines up with the source, so you know where to pick up reading.
Only spin-offs that tie into the main story are listed here — anthologies, fan books and the like are left out.
Season 2 stops exactly where Volume 8 does, so Volume 9 is a clean start with no overlap to read through. The timing is good: the manga finished on September 15, 2026, and the last volume, number 14, comes out in Japan on November 6, 2026, so the whole ending is there to read rather than being drip-fed. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the English edition in print and digital and had reached Volume 12 by February 2026, which puts the volumes you need on shelves already, with the final stretch following behind. One caveat if you watched the film: its newly animated scenes are set after Season 2, so parts of the early reading will already be familiar. Two side works are also in English from Seven Seas, a novel and a spinoff manga following Kyotaro's sister Kana, though neither continues the main story.
Start with Season 1, then go straight into Season 2. That is 25 episodes in total and covers everything the anime has adapted so far. The spinoff and the film are optional and both come afterwards.
Mostly a recap. The film runs 101 minutes and condenses both TV seasons, then adds newly animated scenes set after Season 2, including Kana's concert. If you have watched the seasons, the new footage is the reason to see it, but you will be rewatching a lot to get there.
No. It is a 21-minute spinoff animating the short comic strips the author posts online, released between the two seasons. It is a set of gags with no bearing on the story, so watch it if you want more of the characters and skip it otherwise.
Season 2 ends at Chapter 113, which is the last chapter of Volume 8, so continue from Volume 9, Chapter 114. If you only watched Season 1, start from Volume 5, Chapter 58 instead. Both are clean volume breaks, which is unusual and makes picking up the books easy.
The manga is finished. It ended on September 15, 2026 with its 199th chapter, closing eight and a half years of serialisation, and the fourteenth and final volume comes out in Japan on November 6, 2026. The anime has not caught up: Season 3 was announced on March 14, 2026 for a 2027 broadcast, with no month confirmed, and it still has six volumes of material left to adapt.
Yes. Sentai Filmworks produced it and HIDIVE streams it, starting with Season 1 in August 2023 and Season 2 in June 2024. The spinoff and the film are dubbed too, and Clint Bickham and Katelyn Barr voice Kyotaro and Anna throughout, so the cast never changes on you.
None. Both seasons adapt the manga directly, Chapters 1 to 57 and 58 to 113. What the anime does do is reorder and compress chapters, and it leaves out most of the bonus strips at the ends of the volumes, so the manga still has material you have not seen.
HIDIVE carries everything, both seasons plus the spinoff and the film, subtitled and dubbed. In Japan the spinoff and the film went to Prime Video. Availability varies by country, so check your local catalogue.
