  2. My Dress-Up Darling Season 2

1

My Dress-Up Darling

  • TV Series
  • 12 episodes
  • January 2022

Start here. Twelve episodes covering how Gojo and Marin meet and the first costumes they build together.

2

My Dress-Up Darling Season 2

  • TV Series
  • 12 episodes
  • July 2025

Continues straight from the Season 1 finale with no recap. This is as far as the anime goes.

Why This Order

Season 1 opens with Wakana Gojo, a boy training to make traditional hina dolls in his grandfather's workshop, being asked by his classmate Marin Kitagawa to sew her a cosplay costume. Twelve episodes cover their first costumes and the friendship that forms around them. Season 2 arrived three and a half years later and continues directly from that ending, with the same studio, cast and director, so there is no visual break and no recap to sit through. Watch them in order and you have the anime in full. What the anime does not have is an ending — Season 2 stops around the halfway point of a manga that is now complete, and no third season has been announced. Anyone who wants the rest of the story reads it rather than waits for it.

My Dress-Up Darling XOXO! Spin-off Manga

The anime adapts Shinichi Fukuda's manga, serialised in Young Gangan and completed in March 2025 at 15 volumes. The English edition is published by Square Enix Manga. Season 2 ends partway through volume 11, so pick up at volume 12 — four volumes take you to the ending, which is more than the anime is likely to cover for several years.

What to watch next

Three more on the site with the same warmth: two people finding each other through something they make or love.

  • Horimiya The other great high-school romance about two outsiders who turn out to fit, told with the same lack of manufactured drama.
  • Bocchi the Rock! Same studio energy around a hobby taken seriously — here it is a band instead of costumes.
  • Kaguya-sama: Love is War A sharper, funnier take on two people circling each other without admitting anything.

My Dress-Up Darling Watch Order FAQ

How do I watch My Dress-Up Darling in order?

Season 1, then Season 2. That is all of it — 24 episodes, roughly nine and a half hours. No films, OVAs or specials exist, so there is nothing else to fit in.

Is the chronological order different from the release order?

No. The story runs forward without flashback seasons or side stories, so both orders give the same two entries. The long gap between the seasons is a production gap, not a time skip in the story.

Does the anime finish the story?

No. Season 2 has finished airing, but it stops around the halfway point of the manga. The romance and the cosplay arcs both continue well past where the anime ends, so the ending you get from Season 2 is a pause rather than a conclusion.

Is there a Season 3?

Not announced. Season 2 ended in September 2025 with no continuation announced afterwards, and nothing has been confirmed since. Season 1 to Season 2 took three and a half years, so the absence of an announcement does not mean the series is over.

Where can I watch My Dress-Up Darling?

Crunchyroll carries both seasons worldwide outside Asia, subtitled and with an English dub. In the United States Season 2 is also on Netflix, and in parts of Asia Netflix carries the series instead of Crunchyroll.

Is the manga finished?

Yes. Shinichi Fukuda ended the series in March 2025 after 15 volumes, published in English by Square Enix Manga. Since it is complete, you can read straight through to the ending without waiting on anything.

Where do I start the manga after the anime?

Volume 12. Season 2 ends partway through volume 11, which leaves four volumes to read to reach the ending.
