- The Misfit of Demon King Academy II
- The Misfit of Demon King Academy II (Cour 2)
3 titles · 37 episodes · ~15 hours
Watch Season 1, then both cours of Season II. The story moves in one straight line with no movies, OVAs or side stories, so there is nothing to slot in between.
2
The Misfit of Demon King Academy II
Season II, episodes 1-12. Continues after Season 1 and ends partway through the story that Cour 2 picks up.
⚠ Japanese broadcast was halted after episode 6 in February 2023 and restarted from episode 1 in July 2023.
3
The Misfit of Demon King Academy II (Cour 2)
Season II, episodes 13-24, and the final episodes of the anime so far. This is the second half of Season II, not a third season.
Why This Order
Season 1 (13 episodes) covers Anos's arrival at the Demon King Academy and the conflicts that grow out of his claim to be its founder. Season II picks up after it and was aired as two cours: the first 12 episodes, then episodes 13 to 24 a year later. The two cours are listed separately here because they are separate entries in most databases, but they are one season, and Cour 2 continues straight on from Cour 1. There are no movies, OVAs or recap specials to place, so the three entries below are the whole anime.

The Misfit of Demon King Academy
Season 1 (13 episodes)
Source Vol. 1 - Vol. 3
Season II Cour 1 (12 episodes)
Source Vol. 4 (both parts)
Season 1 adapts light novel Volumes 1-3 and Season II Cour 1 adapts Volume 4 (both parts). Cour 2 starts at Volume 5, but guides disagree on whether it ends with Volume 5 or Volume 6, so starting at Volume 6 avoids a gap. The Japanese series finished with Volume 17 in August 2025. Volumes split in two in Japan are released in English as Act 1 and Act 2, so the numbering matches.
The Misfit of Demon King Academy Watch Order FAQ
What is the correct order to watch The Misfit of Demon King Academy?
Watch Season 1 (13 episodes, 2020), then Season II Cour 1 (12 episodes, 2023), then Season II Cour 2 (12 episodes, 2024). That is both the story order and the order the episodes came out, and there are no movies or OVAs to fit in.
Where should I start with The Misfit of Demon King Academy?
Start with Season 1, episode 1. It introduces Anos Voldigoad and the Demon King Academy, and everything after it builds on that season.
How many seasons of The Misfit of Demon King Academy are there?
Officially two. Season II was aired as two cours of 12 episodes each, so this page lists it as two entries and the episode count section shows three. In total the anime has 37 episodes.
Is The Misfit of Demon King Academy II Cour 2 a third season?
No. Cour 2 is episodes 13 to 24 of Season II. It aired in Japan from April 12 to July 24, 2024, a year after Cour 1, but it is the second half of the same season.
Why did Season II stop after episode 6?
In February 2023 the broadcast of episode 7 onward was postponed because COVID-19 had disrupted the production schedule. Season II restarted from episode 1 on July 8, 2023, and episode 12 aired in September 2023.
Is there an English dub?
Yes. All of the anime is dubbed. Aniplex of America launched the Season 1 dub in September 2020, the Season II dub began in February 2023, and the Cour 2 dub started on May 24, 2024. Aleks Le voices Anos in every season. In Japanese, Anos is voiced by Tatsuhisa Suzuki in Season 1 and Yuichiro Umehara in Season II.
Are there any filler episodes?
The anime follows the light novels arc by arc, and no anime-original episodes are listed for either season. Some inner monologue and side detail from the novels is trimmed.
Is The Misfit of Demon King Academy finished, and will there be a Season 3?
The anime has not been continued since Season II Cour 2 ended on July 24, 2024, and no Season 3 has been announced as of October 2026. The original light novel series is complete: its 17th and final volume came out in Japan in August 2025.
Where does the anime leave off in the light novel?
Season 1 adapts Volumes 1 to 3 and Season II Cour 1 adapts Volume 4 (both parts). Cour 2 begins with Volume 5, but guides disagree on whether it ends with Volume 5 or Volume 6. Starting from Volume 6 means you will not miss anything.
Can I read The Misfit of Demon King Academy light novels in English?
Yes. J-Novel Club publishes the English light novels digitally and Yen Press publishes them in print. Japanese volumes released in two parts appear in English as Act 1 and Act 2, so the volume numbers match. A manga adaptation by Kayaharuka ran for 4 volumes (Square Enix in English) but was left unfinished after the artist passed away in 2021.
Where can I watch The Misfit of Demon King Academy?
In the US, both seasons stream on Crunchyroll and Hulu (as of October 2026). Availability differs by region.
How long does it take to watch The Misfit of Demon King Academy?
