Toradora! comes down to one 25-episode TV series that runs from the first day of second year to the end of the story. Watch it first. The Bento Battle OVA, the four SOS! chibi shorts, and a two-minute cut scene featuring Ami are optional bonus material with no effect on the main plot.
Start here. All 25 episodes follow Ryuji and Taiga from their first run-in to the end of the story, and nothing else is needed beforehand.
A full 27-minute episode in which Kitamura shows up with an extravagant bento and Ryuji refuses to be outdone. The longest of the extras and the one most worth watching.
⚠ Never broadcast. First released with the Japanese Blu-ray box in December 2011.
Four chibi-style shorts in which the cast face off over food. Pure comedy with no connection to the plot.
⚠ Made as bonuses for the Japanese DVD volumes, released from February to August 2009. Not broadcast on TV.
A roughly two-minute scene cut from episode 6, built around Ami running through a string of impressions.
⚠ Released only in Japan, as a bonus disc in the premium box of the Toradora! PSP game.
There is only one place to begin: the 25-episode TV series. It covers the whole story of Ryuji and Taiga, and nothing released later continues it, so you will not need a second season to reach the ending.
The three extras sit below the divider because none of them move the plot. The Bento Battle OVA is a full-length 27-minute episode that was never broadcast. It first came with the Japanese Blu-ray box in 2011 and is the most substantial of the three, so it comes first. The SOS! shorts are four chibi-style food sketches made as bonuses for the Japanese DVD volumes. Ami's impression reel is a two-minute scene cut from episode 6 and only released in Japan with the PSP game's premium box.
All three assume you already know the cast, which is why they come after the TV series rather than between episodes.
Toradora! has 1 season in the main run — 25 episodes altogether.

Only spin-offs that tie into the main story are listed here — anthologies, fan books and the like are left out.
The anime adapts all 10 light novel volumes and has no anime-original episodes, but its final arc was made before volume 10 was published, so the ending differs from the novel. Readers who want the novel's version of the ending can go straight to volume 10, and those who want the full story with Ryuji's inner thoughts can start from volume 1. All 10 volumes are published in English by Seven Seas.
Start with episode 1 of the 25-episode TV series. It is the only entry you need, and it tells the story from beginning to end.
Watch the TV series (25 episodes) first. After that, the optional extras are the Bento Battle OVA, the four SOS! shorts, and Ami's two-minute impression reel. None of them affect the story, so their order does not matter.
No. The TV series covers the whole story. The Bento Battle OVA is a standalone episode, the SOS! shorts are chibi food sketches made for the Japanese DVDs, and Ami's impression reel is a scene cut from episode 6.
Watch it after the TV series. It is a 27-minute episode set at school with the full cast, but it does not tie into a specific point in the story. It was never broadcast and first came with the Japanese Blu-ray box in December 2011.
No. Toradora! has no film. The franchise's anime consists of the TV series, one OVA, the four SOS! shorts, and the short Ami bonus scene.
Yes, it is finished. The TV series ended with episode 25 on March 26, 2009, and the light novels ended with volume 10 the same month. No second season or new anime has been announced, including during the novels' 20th anniversary in 2026.
Not exactly. The anime reached the final part of the story before volume 10 was published, so its ending plays out differently from the novel. The novel changes how Taiga leaves, who is with Ryuji at key moments, and how long Taiga is gone before she returns.
There is no point to pick up from, because the anime reaches the end of the story. To read the novel's own ending, read volume 10. To get the full inner monologue the anime leaves out, start from volume 1. All 10 volumes are available in English from Seven Seas.
No. All 25 episodes adapt the light novels. There are no anime-original filler episodes.
Yes. NIS America released an English dub in 2014, produced by Bang Zoom! Entertainment, with Cassandra Lee as Taiga and Erik Scott Kimerer as Ryuji. It covers all 25 episodes, and the Bento Battle OVA was dubbed with the same cast.
As of September 2026, Toradora! is not on any major subscription service in the US. It left Netflix in 2024 and Crunchyroll in April 2025. The subtitled episodes can be bought on Prime Video, and Discotek Media's Blu-ray with the English dub and the OVA is due on October 27, 2026. Availability varies by region.
The 25 TV episodes take about 10 hours. The Bento Battle OVA adds about 27 minutes.
